His Father's problems with the drink take a severe turn for the worst when he takes up with Veronica Stracken a harsh woman who like his father has no insight or understanding into Joe's condition and doesn't particularly want any.Joe's little sister Wendy is left almost entirely in his care however due to Joe's condition and his father's neglect Wendy is placed in a children's home.Due to dramatic events Joe is sectioned in a psychiatric hospital where he is diagnosed as been a sufferer of schizophrenia.After many experiences Joe's condition improves he 'escapes' from the hospital and lives rough. But his greatest wish is to be reunited with his sister.
